Home Energy Scotland (HES)
Scotland’s main funding programme for home energy improvements is Home Energy Scotland (HES), delivered by Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Scottish Government.
Available Funding (2025)
- Interest-free loan: Up to £15,000 for eligible measures
- Cashback grant: Up to £9,000 for air source heat pumps
- Rural uplift: Additional funding for rural and island properties
Eligibility
Scottish homeowners and some private renters are eligible. Unlike the BUS in England/Wales, HES funding is available for a wider range of property types and is not limited to replacing fossil fuel systems only.
