What Is Commissioning?
Commissioning is setting up, testing, and verifying a newly installed heat pump system. It’s the final stage before handover and is required under MCS standards.
MCS Commissioning Requirements
- Verification of installation to design specification
- Refrigerant pressure testing and leak checking
- Electrical testing and verification
- Flow and return temperature verification
- Controls setup and weather compensation configuration
- Completion of MCS Commissioning Checklist

- MCS Certificate of Installation (required for BUS grant)
- System user guide and controls training
- Warranty documentation
